Falls are one of the greatest long-term threats to the health of older Americans, even though many are preventable with proper lifestyle changes. Half of those who are hospitalized with a hip fracture are unable to return home after their injury; and many suffer secondary complications ranging from depression to pneumonia. One in three persons over the age of 65 has a fall each year; that increases to one in two for those over 80. If you care for someone in their senior years, we invite you to join this discussion.
