Wage, Hour, and Payroll Tax Seminars
State Division of Labor Standards Enforcement to collaborate on State Wage, Hour and Payroll Tax Seminar for Riverside employers The California Division of Labor Standards and Enforcement (DLSE) in collaboration with the Employment and Development Department (EDD) will conduct two free Wage, Hour, and Payroll Tax Seminars in Riverside on Feb 22nd and Mar 15th. "Our experience is that most employers want to comply with the law, but many are unsure of what is required of them,'' said Acting Labor Commissioner Robert Jones. ''To address this need for information, we are reaching out to California's small business to help them understand employer and employee rights and responsibilities." The seminar will provide employers information on record keeping; reporting requirements; employer obligations; and payment requirements. Employers will also learn the basics on how to distinguish between an employee and independent contractor and common wage and hour application. In addition: DLSE and EDD labor experts will be available to answer wage and hour questions. The workshops, designed for employers, will take place in Riverside on: Thursday, February 22, 2007 or Thursday, March 15, 2007 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Small Business Development Center 1201 Research Park Drive, Suite 100 Riverside, CA There is no charge for this seminar.
