Murrieta Innovation Center Celebrates Grand Re-Opening, Advancing Regional Life Sciences Growth
Murrieta, CA — The City of Murrieta, in partnership with Impact Riverside County, has announced the Grand Re-Opening Ribbon Cutting Celebration of the Murrieta Innovation Center (MIC) on April 20, marking a significant milestone in the continued growth of Southwest Riverside County’s innovation and life sciences ecosystem.
“The Murrieta Innovation Center has been a dream of the City Council for over a decade,” said City of Murrieta Mayor Jon Levell. “Achieving the promise of this kind of facility is huge for the City of Murrieta and the entire region. It could not have been done without a clear direction from previous City Council Members and City leadership, and the trusted partnerships with the nonprofits and government organizations we have backing this idea.”
The renovation of the Innovation Center was made possible through strategic investment from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, Riverside County, the City of Murrieta, and Impact Riverside County, demonstrating a strong regional commitment to economic growth and innovation.
The upgraded center now features a state-of-the-art wet lab tailored for life sciences and health-tech startups. These enhancements position the MIC as a premier launchpad for companies developing solutions in healthcare, biotechnology, and medical innovation.
“Innovation does not happen by accident. It happens when entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, educators, and civic leaders come together to share ideas and ambition,” said Patrick Ellis, President/CEO of the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber of Commerce. “The Murrieta Innovation Center was imagined to be that collaborative space, and with these new upgrades, we are better equipped than ever to support the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.”
The Grand Re-Opening underscores the City’s commitment to fostering innovation-driven economic development. By providing access to facilities, mentorship, and critical business resources, the MIC enables early-stage companies to develop prototypes, conduct research, connect with investors, and scale their operations, all within Southwest Riverside County.
Beyond supporting startups, the Innovation Center strengthens the broader community by fostering job creation, workforce development, and connecting students and professionals to career pathways in science and technology.
