Murrieta, CA – The City of Murrieta has been selected as a winner in the 2026 Business Facilities Economic Development Organization (EDO) Awards, earning top recognition in the Mid-Sized EDO category for the Murrieta Innovation Center (MIC).

The nationally recognized award honors innovative and impactful economic development initiatives that support business growth, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and long-term economic vitality.

“This national recognition reflects Murrieta’s commitment to innovation, entrepreneurship, and creating opportunities for businesses to thrive,” said Mayor Jon Levell. “The Murrieta Innovation Center continues to position our community as a leader in economic growth and emerging industries.”

The recently renovated MIC will be a key driver in advancing Southwest Riverside County’s innovation ecosystem by supporting startups, life sciences, and emerging industries through mentorship, collaboration, and business resources.

“We are honored to receive this award and proud of the impact the MIC is making throughout the region,” said Scott Agajanian, Deputy City Manager for the City of Murrieta. “The City has strategically invested in innovation and our ongoing efforts to support entrepreneurs and attract high-quality, in-demand industries will drive economic opportunity and job growth in our region.”
